Om projektet

(for english version see below)

Tusind tak for din støtte!

ENGLISH.
On December 22. 2011 the Museum of Modern Art of Naples, Italy, will be hosting a fundraising event, and a photo exhibition, featuring some of my work. The event will raise money for the ongoing rebuilding process of Japan after the March earthquake. Thousands are still living on very few square meters in gym halls and in schools. About 40.000 are in temporary housing and other shelters. Headlines have vanished from the news, but the need is still great.

The organizers of the fundraising event have requested me to do an exhibition and a presentation for the cause. Everyone (including me) are giving their time and efforts for free, and all funds are going to registered organizations active in the rebuilding of Japan. The Mayor of Napoli, Mr. De Magistris, the Honorary consul of Japan, Mr. Di Gianni, and the Italian correspondent of Sky News in Japan, Mr. D’Emilia will among others be part of the fundraising.

I need your help to produce prints in a size and quality that are these exhibitions and their audiences worthy. I work with organizations of all sizes and means, to some I fully donate my time and photos, others cover my basic travel expenses, few pay me an actual salary. Therefore I need you to be able to make this extra effort, directly helping people in need and boosting awareness of humanitarian photography as a genre.

On January 22. 2012 the images will be used in another exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark. This exhibition is focused on the French art community of Denmark, a group I have close family ties to. My part of the exhibition will be focussed on humanitarian photography as a platform to increased awareness and funding for humanitarian and social projects.

Thank you for your support.
